The usually calm inspiring wonderful vistas
surrounding Redding, were fraught with
tension and concern - as the third week
of raging vegetation fires destroyed
homes and dreams.
The MarketFest fans soon found distraction
in the many wonders of Redding's premiere
summertime community event.  No doubt
the main attraction tonight was the well
loved reggae band from New York City -
Taj Weekes & Adowa.
'Heat be damned', I came here to jiggle
and dance.. and so what if the temperature
is a 113 ..' commented one youngish attractive
blond gal as she shed here sandals and purse
and joined the shimmering withering horde of
peace loving souls lost in dance.
